ALBIR / EXPERIENCE

Experience across different worlds.

Connecting subject matter, systems and people is the common thread: from payments and international programmes to education, public service and associations.

1997 → 2026

Six areas of practice

01 / FINTECH

Payment platforms

Business and technical analysis in payment platform integration and renewal. Experience in domestic and international payments, migrations and system connectivity.

Contributions include implementation plans, system documentation, test strategy and acceptance-test support.

02 / LEARNING

IT education for adults

Training, coaching and workshops, including data modelling and understanding information systems. Experience in internal and external training and guidance for developers and users.

The connection: making technical subjects understandable and supporting their application.

03 / PUBLIC SECTOR

Analysis and guidance within administrations

Business and functional analysis in public transport, including an automation feasibility study and business process modelling. Also experienced in individual guidance within administrations.

The connection: organisational questions, information and everyday work.

04 / PROGRAMMES

Projects, programmes and service delivery

Project and programme management in international settings, coordinating teams, clients and suppliers. Experience with release planning, service delivery, incident and problem management.

Contributions include project plans, progress reporting, change scoping and maintenance-release coordination.

05 / ASSOCIATIONS

Governance, volunteering and cooperation

Experience in associations, including chairing a student board, responsibilities in youth and play-scheme activities, and chairing an informatics working group in a school setting.

These governance and volunteer roles are part of the accumulated experience, not claims of current appointments.

06 / METHODS

Organisational inquiry and knowledge-based systems

An academic background involving knowledge-based systems and practical organisational analysis using the INK model, including a connection between that analysis and academic methodological work.

This interest continues today through ArtiProof and applied research into knowledge, evidence and AI.

Client identities and project details remain confidential. These descriptions identify areas of experience and make no claims about project scale or measured client outcomes.

ALBIR / ARTiproof

From practical questions to research.

What must an organisation continue to understand when people, processes or technology change? This question connects our practice with methodological research.

Lieven Baats is the founder of ArtiProof, a methodology and research programme examining the knowledge and evidence on which organisations rely. ArtiProof is published by KopKen VZW. ALBIR is a separate practice and implementation partner, also pursuing applied research and development.

We use ArtiProof where appropriate, alongside other approaches. The method remains in development; independent validation is ongoing work. Read the current method status.
